Two people have died in a house fire in Garforth in Leeds, West Yorkshire Police have said.
One man was rescued from the blaze in Farfield Court and taken to hospital with serious burns but later died from his injuries.
Another person was found dead at the scene.
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious house fire at around 6.30pm yesterday.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fountain from West Yorkshire Police said: We are working closely with the fire service to establish the cause of this incident, which has left two people dead.
Enquiries are still at a very early stage, but I would ask anyone with any information to contact Leeds District CID on 101.
The police, fire service and gas board were all at the scene as investigations into the fatal blaze began.
A spokeswoman for the West Yorkshire Fire Service told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the fire had been contained to the house.
The fire service is working with other agencies to deal with the incident and also with subsequent investigations, she said.

It comes in the same week that three children and two adults died in another house fire in nearby Sheffield.
A nine-week-old baby was among those that died in the blaze which broke out in Wake Road, Sharrow, in the early hours of Monday morning.
